At the same time the normal progress of organic chemistry has disclosed a variety of new reactions and com-pounds; so that it has been considered advisable to subject the portion of the text dealing with the qualitative aspect of organic analysis to a thorough revision.The reference tables have also been almost entirely re-written in order to take advantage of the new data appearing in the recent literature and to present in fuller detail the information therein summarized.</span><br></p>
