<p>Bone is one of the very often transplanted tissue in the human body only blood transplant precedes it. autologous bone grafting is the gold standard procedure and approximately one million bone graft procedures are executed worldwide every year. Bone grafting procedure demand is ever increasing in implant dentistry, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Maxillo-Facial Surgery.</p><p>Intra oral bone grafts correspondingly utilized in the field of surgical oncology- head and neck for small sized defects and are often preferred in maxillofacial reconstruction. Extraoral autografts are gold standard and are used for large scale reconstruction; but intra oral autografts are advantageous as its close proximity to operating field and minimizes need of second operative procedure for harvesting graft. </p><p>The first two chapters of the book includes bone biology, types of graft materials, fate of Auto Bone Graft etc. there is new addition of chapter bone graft instrument and principles of bone grafting which will explore the diversity of bone graft instruments, their clinical application and limitations, along with comprehensive review of bone grafting principal technique.
