• Cone Bean Computed Tomography (CBCT) has brough a paradigm shift from 2D imaging to 3D imaging in the dental field. <br/><br/>• Application of CBCT range from dental implantology, oral maxillofacial surgery, orthodontic, sleep apnea, temporomandibular joints, orthognathic surgery, etc. <br/><br/>• The 2D imaging suffers from inherent limitations of magnification, distortion and superimposition, which is easily surpassed by CBCT. <br/><br/>• Dental fraternity needs to understand the way of relating the CBCT images for patient’s anatomy. <br/><br/>• Highlightds the basic principle of CBCT, normal appearance of maxillofacial landmarks on CBCT images and applications of CBCT in dental field.
