Born in the golden temple city of Amrit in 1933 she has been educated Lucknow and Kolkata. She obtained diploma in home science from prestigious Lady Irwin College Delhi which set her initial tastes in the culinary arts. After her marriage to an Indian Forest Service officer at the young age of years she had to learn to adapt her to the environment by cooking to dishes from whatever materials were available. This life style gave her opportunity to select experiment with and improve upon the recipes which had been collecting as a connoisseur. Result a great compilation of thetraditional and modern dishes which finds a golden reflection in this book. Mrs Bhatia now lives in South Delhi her family and has a zeal and zest partying in her social circles with personalised recipies.
