Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe was an American author and abolitionist. She Born 14 June 1811, Litchfield, Connecticut, United States. She came from the religious Beecher family and became best known for her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, which depicts the harsh conditions experienced by enslaved African Americans. She died on 1 July 1896, Hartford, Connecticut, United States.
