Dr. Durga Prasad Kemisetti is working as Associate Professor (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) in Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Assam down town University, Panikhaiti, Guwahati, Assam. He obtained his B. Pharm from University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University, M. Pharm from J.S.S College of Pharmacy, Ooty affiliated to the Tamil Nadu M.G.R Medical University, Chennai. He is Gold and Silver Medal Recipient in M. Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Chemistry. He has completed his Doctoral Degree from Jawaharlal Technological University, Hyderabad, Telangana. His credentials include 31 publications including national and International level. His seminars include, National and International, more than 73 Seminars, Conferences, Webinars, Paper Presentations, FDPs, Workshops. He has published 3 International Book chapters and 4 National Book Chapters. He has to his credit 5 National Patents and 1 International Patent. He has guided 14 B. Pharm, 14 M. Pharm, Chemistry and 27 M. Pharm Analysis students and presently guiding 6 Ph. D students. To his credit he is a Reviewer for many national and International Journals from Elsevier to Web of Science. He has Reviewed more than 45 Manuscripts including Web of Science, Elsevier journals since 2016 till now and Recognized Reviewer by Elsevier. He has more than 16 Years of Teaching Experience in Teaching. He is a Life member of IPA, APTI, IPGA and APP. His area of interest is Synthetic Chemistry, Polymeric Prodrugs, Characterization, Spectroscopic Analysis, In-vitro and In-vivo Evaluation and Docking and Toxicity studies.

<p>Scope</p><p>1. This subject is designed to impart fundamental knowledge on the structure, chemistry and therapeutic value of drugs.</p><p>2. The subject emphasis on modern techniques of rational drug design like quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR), Prodrug concept,&nbsp; ombinatorial chemistry and Computer aided drug design (CADD).</p><p>3. The subject also emphasizes on the chemistry, mechanism of action, metabolism, adverse effects, Structure Activity Relationships (SAR), therapeutic uses and synthesis of important drugs.</p><p>Outcomes- Upon completion of the course students shall be able:</p><p>1. To understand the importance of drug design and different techniques of drug design.</p><p>2. To understand the chemistry of drugs with respect to their biological activity.</p><p>3.
