About the Author Bedrich Hrozný (18791952) was a Czech orientalist archaeologist linguist and polyglot. He also deciphered the Hittite language and laid down the foundations of Hittite history culture and civilization in mainstream academia. He is also known as the father of Hittitology. He discovered around 1000 cuneiform tablets containing letters and other modes of exchanges of Assyrian merchants in Kältepe in modern Turkey. In 1929 he founded the journal Archiv Orientální which deals with Africa Asia and Near Eastern studies.</p>
