SP Gupta PhD (Civil Engineering) is former Director, Global Institute of Technology, Jaipur (2012), after serving as Principal of the institute for 9 years. He retired from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, as Professor and Head, Department of Structural Engineering, in 2002. Dr Gupta graduated in Civil Engineering in 1965 from Delhi College of Engineering. He obtained his postgraduate degree in structural engineering from Delhi University in 1970, and doctoral degree from University of Rajasthan in 1985. He started his career as Assistant Engineer in UP Irrigation in 1965. Thereafter, he switched over to teaching at Delhi College of Engineering in 1967 and then at Malaviya Regional Engineering College (now Malaviya National Institute of Technology), Jaipur, in 1969.He became Reader and Professor in 1985 and 1996.Dr Gupta has published more than 25 research papers.
