The present volume has 5 sections - Microbiology, Mycology, Phycology, Bryophytes and Plant Anatomy. The section on Microbiology includes a chapter on Immunology which is very essential for students to understand the basic principles of disease resistence. A separate chapter has been added in the section on Mycology-Fungi and Human Welfare which deals with the overall influence of Fungi in the affairs of Man. A detailed account of mushriim culture is given in this chapter to enthuse students to take up this profitable venture.
