<p>Aiyangar’s celebrated work Evolution of Hindu Administrative Institutions in South India examines the administration and political frameworks adopted by different South Indian kingdoms. It also discusses about differences between South Indian and North Indian polity. The author also covers the political ideology of ancient South Indian states such as kural system and other features in this volume. Lastly this book covers the administrative policy under Pallavas and Cholas and rural politics under the Cholas. About the Author S. Krishnaswami Aiyangar (18711946) was an Indian Dravidologist. He was a member of the Royal Asiatic Society and was Chair of the Department of Indian History and Archaeology at the University of Madras from 19141929. His publications include Sri Ramanujacharya: A Sketch of his Life and Times History of the Nayaks of Madura Hindu India from Original Sources A History of Tirupathi etc.</p>
