The handbook of cardiotocography with 24 chapters covers the subject from the basics of the equipment and guidelines to the difficulties faced with interpretation of complex traces to medico-legal situations. Different chapters are devoted to easily understand the complex interplay between the clinical situation and the cardiotocograph. The international array of authors known for their expertise in this subject have worked hard to provide useful information with well illustrated appropriate cardiotocography traces. My congratulations to Dr Roza Olyai for bringing out this handbook that would be useful for trainees, midwives and clinicians.
