The objective for this book is to distil the most important and commonly used maxims, give the meaning or explanation of each maxim and show how it has been employed in a judgment or argument propounded in court. Most books on legal maxims are large, overwhelming and encyclopaedic, in which the average reader cannot read everything, and does not know what to focus on. This book contains a "curated" collection of the maxims that are actually employed and continue to be used in the study and practice of the law.
