This book is not simply Law Lexicon, but a comprehensive work on parliamentary and constitutional law in general from jurisprudential aspects and parliamentary and constitutional related matters of India in particular. This dictionary of Parliamentary and Constitutional Law has been written with an eye to focus legal light on the growing controversies in this branch of jurisprudence so that solutions can be arrived at. The words, expressions, terms, doctrines and theories included in this dictionary are of general nature with special reference to the Constitution of India and parliamentary practices and procedures followed in India. Preambles of some Constitutions of the World having proximity with the Constitution of India and their compositions of Parliament or Central Legislature have been set out in this book so that the aims and objectives of these constitutions may be appreciated. Source-materials of this dictionary are (1) Constitutional, statutory and conventional provisions; (2) Decisions of the Supreme Court of India and Judgments of foreign Courts, particularly of the UK, the USA, Australia and Canada; (3) authoritative texts on the relevant subjects. All efforts have been made to make the dictionary useful to all concerned.
