<p>The book gives a brief introduction to sports dentistry and its history. In the subsequent chapters, it covers traumatic dental injuries and its latest treatment guidelines according to the International Association of Dental traumatology. Traumatic facial injuries and concussion in sports have also been discussed. Dental erosion in sports and various techniques to evaluate them are also briefly mentioned. The use of spit tobacco in the sports culture and doping among sportsperson have been elaborated precisely. Lastly it is the sole book which discusses the role of team dentist and prevention of sports-related injuries in the form of the mouthguard and other appliances.<br></p>
