<p>The Legends of Punjab was written in 1884 into three volumes. This copious work was highly acclaimed by the academic world and it became a legend in itself. The book was also translated into Urdu. The folk stories of Raja Risalo Sakhi Sarwar Dani Jatti Goga Pir Isa the Bapari Dhanna Jat Negi Bahadur and LalBeg etc. provide a vivid account of valour bravery historical events religious and spiritual personalities rituals beliefs and social systems in the Punjab. About the Author Sir Richard Carnac Temple (18501931) was an Indianborn British administrator the Chief Commissioner of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and an anthropological writer.</p>
